Candy Johnson

Thursday, November 3, 2011 — Staff Sergeant Candy Lynn Johnson, age 44, of 13113 Hermitage Road, Savannah, Ga., died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at West Albemarle Baptist Church. Rev. Adam Hatley will officiate and Military Rites will follow the service at Liberty Gardens, Albemarle.

The family will receive friends at West Albemarle Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon from 1-2 p.m. prior to the hour of the service.

Born December 29, 1966 in Cabarrus County, N.C., she was the daughter of Colleen Burleson of Albemarle and the late Ted Burleson.

She was a graduate of South Rowan High School and attended Gardner Webb College. She was a Retired Veteran of the U.S. Army with 20 years of service. She was a member of Savannah Christian Church, Savannah, Ga.

Along with her mother, survivors include one daughter, Candice Louise Johnson of Savannah, Ga.; and three sisters, Robin Huneycutt and Tammy James, both of Albemarle and Bonnie Green of Wilmington.
