Sherry Tucker, 70, a retired NCDOT employee, died Feb. 21, 2014

Sunday, February 23, 2014 — Sherry Ann Hearn Tucker, age 70, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, in Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington, N.C.

Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, at Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle, N.C. The Rev. Danny Laws will officiate. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle, N.C. on Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Born November 23, 1943, in Davidson County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James Elwood Hearn and Violet Layton Goodman Hearn.

She was a retired employee of the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 30 years of service. She was a member of South Albemarle Baptist Church, where she was a member of the church choir.

Survivors include one son, Mark Douglas Tucker and wife Jackie of Rock Hill, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Caitlin Moss and Nicholas Jack Tucker.

Also surviving are her family and special friends: Bobby and Brenda Ingold, Michael and Becky Clark, Daren and Kellie Clark, Jeremy and Haylee Clark, Daniel and Cortney, Alivia Clark and Eric and Heather Clark.

One brother, Louis “Tab” Elwood Hearn, preceded her in death.
