Jackie Cranford, retired bookkeeper, dies at 70


Tuesday, September 17, 2013 — INDIAN TRAIL – Mrs. Jackie Cranford, 70, died Friday, September 13, 2013, at her residence.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service.

Mrs. Cranford was born November 27, 1942, in Stanly County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Leon and Frances Cooper Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brent Herlocker; brother, Joe Franklin; sister, Carol Blevins; and by a grandson, Adam Efird.

She was a retired bookkeeper.

Mrs. Cranford is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Kelly Furr, Amy Herlocker, Grant Herlocker and Kim Caudle; a special young man, Justin Cassell and his family, who greatly enriched Jackie’s life; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and by her dogs, Mamie and Josie.

The family would like especially thank Hospice nurses, Jan Plyler Greene and Kim Outen, for their wonderful care for Jackie.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
