Margie Stamper retired from American & Efird Mill

Friday, September 27, 2013 — Margie Ruth Wilhoit Stamper, age 92, of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., died at 2:08 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in her home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, in Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, N.C. Pastor Thomas Childers and Rev. Jeremy Hyde will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, N.C.

The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, prior to the hour of the service.

Born January 6, 1921, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther Wilhoit and Phronia Allen Wilhoit.

She was a retired employee of American & Efird Mill and was a member of Randall’s United Methodist Church, Norwood, N.C.

Mrs. Stamper was married to the late John Thomas Stamper, who preceded her in death July 24, 2006.

Survivors include one daughter, Reba Stamper Paige and husband Richard “R.J” of Mt. Pleasant, N.C.; three grandchildren, John R. Paige and wife Cheryl, Crystal Childers and husband Ron and Anissa Huneycutt and husband Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Stanly Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
