Ray Misenheimer, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, a veteran, was master carpenter, enjoyed traveling, woodworking, antiques

Monday, October 21, 2013 — Ray Banks Misenheimer, 86, of Mt. Pleasant Road West, Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday morning at Carebridge Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday at Gordon Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Benny Creed; burial followed in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity Cemetery. The Misenheimer family receivd friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Misenheimer was born February 16, 1927 in Cabarrus County son of the late Charlie Misenheimer and Maggie Blackwelder Misenheimer. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was a master carpenter, enjoyed traveling, woodworking and antiques. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Misenheimer and wife Patti, daughter, Juanita M. Mullis, stepdaughter, Rhonda Earnhardt, grandchildren, Angie Coggins, Lisa Ford, Amanda Loan, Trisha Clutter and John Mullis, Jr., great-grandchildren, Blair Misenheimer and Tristan Coggins, Ryan and Cole Ford, Megan and Blake Loan, McKensie Clutter and Alyssa Mullis, and stepgrandchildren, Brian, Daron and Everest.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Carebridge Assisted Living and Hospice and Palliative Care for their care during Mr. Misenheimer’s declining health.
