Shirley Blalock, 78, of Great Falls, Mont., enjoyed sewing, playing cards, fishing, passed away Nov. 11, 2013

Thursday, November 14, 2013 — Shirley Edwards Blalock, 78, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013, of natural causes.

Visitation was on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at O’Connor Funeral Home, Great Falls, Mont. and one hour prior to the funeral service.  

Funeral services were on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church with burial following at Highland Cemetery.

Shirley was born December 19, 1934, in Norwood, N.C., to Emma Edwards and was raised by her aunt, Ada Edwards. She attended Norwood High School.

Shirley married the love of her life, Julius “Jule” Blalock on August 30, 1952, in Chesterfield, S.C.  

For 26 years, she traveled the world with Jule as a military wife. She prided herself in taking care of her children and keeping their home in order. Her family was important to her and they gave her the same care that she had given to them up until she passed away.

She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Julius “Jule” Blalock of Great Falls, Mont.; son, Randy (Cathie) Blalock of Great Falls, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie “Terry” Rivera; son, Reggy D’Lann Blalock; and grandson, Jeremiah D’Lann Blalock.
