Carrie Lyerly

Monday, May 6, 2013 — Ms. Carrie Kathleen Lyerly, a woman of great conviction, advocate for the community and a true woman of God, of 203 T.E. White Senior Dr., formerly known as Center Street, Albemarle, went home for sweet rest on Monday, April 29, 2013.

Some of her civic, social, and religious affiliation highlights include; past President of the Stanly County NAACP (15 years), Board of Adjustment Committee Member (City of Albemarle), Union Organizer and Sr. Shop Steward for the influential Collective Bargaining Agreement: Local 1199, Queens of Manhattan, member and past Associate Matron of OES Chapter #126 (Stanly County), member of the Black Leadership Caucus and the Mother & member of Hope Faith & Charity Church.

There was a public viewing from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Hope, Faith & Charity Church, 1143 Pee Dee Ave., Albemarle. The funeral is scheduled for Monday, May 6, 2013 at Saint Delight Church, 520 Wall St., Albemarle.  The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.  The eulogist will be Rev. Curtis Long.  Burial will follow at Cedar Grove New Life Cemetery in New London.
