Thursday, November 14, 2013 — Juanita P. Hopkins, age 84, of Albemarle, N.C., died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in her home.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, N.C. Rev. Bob Gruver and Rev. Danny Laws will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle, N.C.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013.
Born July 14, 1929, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Jim Tom Poplin and Eliza Florence Carpenter Poplin.
She was a retired employee from Dawson Mfg. Co. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant in private settings.
She was a Charter Member of South Albemarle Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hopkins was married to F. Stephen Hopkins of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Trina Smith of Albemarle and Tonya Kerr and husband Paul of Mint Hill, N.C.; three sisters, Evelyn Blake, Tommie Eudy and Eloise Furr, all of Albemarle, N.C.; four grandchildren, Erica Kerr, Wendy Holbert, Brett Smith and Derek Smith; five great-grandchildren, Savanna Holbert, Amelia Holbert, Ashlee Smith, Braden Smith and Cooper Smith.
Two sisters, Mazelle Lawhon and Apolonia Harwood, preceded her in death.
Stanly Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
