Thursday, April 25, 2013 — Judith Wicker Eaton, 71, of Albemarle, formerly of Charlotte, passed away at home suddenly, on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
A celebration of life was at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Norwood First United Methodist Church in Norwood. Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiated. The family welcomed friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Eaton was born November 2, 1941, in Lee County, to the late Bryant Wicker and Louise Kelly Wicker.
Judy was a much loved wife, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother and teacher who had many friends. Mrs. Eaton, formerly Cobb, was teacher and friend to many at Independence High School in Charlotte, N.C., where she worked for over 15 years. She later became an Educational leader for the state writing test.
Judy was also a devoted Sunday school teacher for 10 years at Norwood First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Eaton and brother, Bryant Wicker.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Lascelles and husband Mark of London, England; stepdaughter, Susan Thomas and husband Randy of Rural Hall; grandchildren, Jake Lascelles, Joseph Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas; sister-in-law, Shirley Wicker; nephew, Kelly; nieces, Meg and Joanna.
