Thursday, April 25, 2013 — Born June 29, 1951, Rev. Homer Daniels Jr. went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2013.
He served as a missionary to Colombia, South America; was a minister of music at several churches, including Eastside Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala; and was also a Spanish teacher and media specialist.
Rev. Daniels loved to paint and appreciated a good joke. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mellie Katheryne and Homer Bain Daniels Sr.; and his sister, Susan Hathcock.
Rev. Daniels is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dianne Daniels; son, Patrick Bain Daniels (Madison Stone); daughter, Katheryne Dianne Daniels; grandson, Vincent Bain Daniels; brother, Tate Daniels (Linda); brother-in-law, Charles Hathcock; sister-in-law, Pat Morgan (Stan); nephews, Gregory Hathcock and Nicholas Long (Khristine Kimrey); nieces, Beth Terry (Scott) and Dr. Brittany Long; and a host of friends and family.
Visitation will be at Glen Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; followed by a celebration of his life beginning at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the Organ Fund at the Baptist Church of the Covenant.
