E.J. Bailey, 86, was a Korean War veteran

Monday, July 15, 2013 — E.J. Bailey, of Daytona Beach, Fla., passed peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2013, at the age of 86.

He was born in 1927, in Montgomery County, to the late Pearl and Paul Bailey.

He served in the U.S. Army where he was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Dayton Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Floyd, J.W., Glenn and Wayne Bailey; and four sisters, Olive B. Thompson, Pauline B. Mauldin, Goldia Thompson and Opal. B.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Myrtle B. Bailey; their daughter, Cyndi B. Rehberg (Ron); and son, Niles L. Bailey (Sandy); along with three grandchildren, Cameron R. Ambers (Aaron), Carri Leigh Rehberg and David Alex Bailey; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Ambers; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Volusia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Fla. A graveside military burial followed at 12:30 p.m.
