Derek Forsythe, 30, of New London, a U.S. Army Veteran, died July 8, 2014

Thursday, July 10, 2014 — Byran Derek Forsythe, 30, of New London, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014.  

His funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, with the Rev. Rodney Hughes officiating. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Friday evening, July 11, 2014, from 6-8 p.m.

Born December 29, 1983, in Stanly County, N.C., he was the son of Byran Dennis Love of Stanley, N.C. and Mary Ann Forsythe Green and husband William of New London.  

He was an employee of Maybury Fencing and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Mr. Forsythe was a Christian and he loved his daughters very much.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Forsythe; daughters, Hannah Lee and Kayly Forsythe; grandfather, Bobby Forsythe and wife Jane of New London; grandmother, Frances Love of Stanley, N.C.; sisters, Trinity Efird and husband Billie of Albemarle, Lynzee Butler and husband Donald Smith and Chelsie Radford and husband Dakota Tucker, all of New London; two nieces; six nephews; and special friend, Samantha Rogers.  

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sarah Forsythe and grandfather, Edward Love.

Stanly Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
