Reggie F. Stoker, age 79, served many roles at Richfield Baptist Church

Thursday, October 10, 2013 — March 8, 1934-Oct. 6, 2013

Reggie F. Stoker, 79 years of age, a resident of Stanly County for most of his life, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Marietta, Ga.

Mr. Stoker was born March 8, 1934, in Albemarle, to the late Wade Franklin Stoker and the late Gertrude Beatrice Mann Stoker. Mr. Stoker was preceded in death by his sons, Terry Franklin Stoker and Timothy James Stoker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Stoker.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Richfield Baptist Church with Rev. De Hillyer and Rev. Brian Miller officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Mr. Stoker is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Reeves Plyler Stoker; daughter, Mitzi Stoker West and husband Rodger of Marietta, Ga.; granddaughters, Lauren West Yancey and husband Warren and Carolyn Phillips and husband Chase; and great-grandchildren West and Charlotte Yancey. He is also survived by siblings, Wade Kent Stoker and Nancy Stoker Morris, as well as an extended circle of loving friends and family.

Mr. Stoker worked for Keebler Company as a salesman for many years. He was a member of Richfield Baptist Church for over 50 years where he gladly served as deacon, choir member and Sunday School teacher.
