Jean Barringer, 82, of China Grove, a NASCAR fan, enjoyed reading, going to yard sales

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 — Mrs. Jean Cole Barringer, 82, of China Grove, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.  

She was born April 21, 1931, in Knoxville, Tenn. to the late Bertie Lee Crowe Cole.

Mrs. Barringer attended Rockwell High School and retired from China Grove Cotton Mill. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed reading and going to yard sales and was a NASCAR fan.  

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Barringer; and a brother, Dennis Gwen “Sonny” Cole.  

Mrs. Barringer is survived by her daughter, Sharri Barringer Stein and husband Joe of Richfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family received friends Tuesday, October 22 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell, N.C.

A graveside service followed on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Gene Sides.
