Odell Almond

Wednesday, May 15, 2013 — Odell Leonard Almond, 84 years of age, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at home in Mission.

Odell was born April 29, 1929, to the late Hugh Alexander Almond and the late Riller L. Almond.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Mission Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. at Mission Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde, Dr. Ronny Russell and Dr. Floyd Helms. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Lorene Almond of Locust, N.C.; daughter, Sandy Burr of Locust, N.C.; son, Terry Stephen Almond of Linwood, N.C.; sisters, Frances Huneycutt, Nancy  Barbee and Pat Osborne, all of Locust, N.C.; brother, Mike Almond of Locust, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Odell was the owner and operator of the Mission Milling Company and General Store. He was also a farmer, a former Winston Cup souvenir truck driver and a Charter Member of Ridgecrest Volunteer Fire Dept.
