Tuesday, October 22, 2013 — Mrs. Barbara Culp Basinger, 76, of Rockwell, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Genesis Health Care in Salisbury.
Mrs. Basinger was born on June 6, 1937, in Rowan County, daughter of the late Claude Culp and Letha Canupp Culp.
he was a graduate of Rockwell High School and worked in Catalog Sales for Sears and Roebuck for 20 years where she was a top salesperson. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Zane Grey Basinger, whom passed away on June 26, 2012, and by her brothers, Jim Culp and Floyd Culp.
Mrs. Basinger is survived by her daughter, Laurie B. Shuping and husband Rusty of Rockwell; granddaughters, Megan Garmon and husband T.J. Of Rockwell, Amber Lingerfelt and husband James of York, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Emilia Galan and Jordan Galan of York, S.C.
The funeral will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. John Houghton, Pastor and Rev. Ken Prater, Associate Pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 1-2 p.m.
