Paul Wilhoit

Thursday, July 11, 2013 — Paul Junior Wilhoit, age 85, of Albemarle, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, in his home.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle, with full military graveside rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle.

Born January 2, 1928, in Hoke County, N.C., he was the son of the late Claude and Katherine Paul Wilhoit.

He was educated in Stanly County Schools and ICS. He was a retired employee of E.J. Snyder Company. He was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church in Albemarle and a veteran of the U.S. Marine serving during WWII.

Mr. Wilhoit was married to the late Karla Jean Efird Wilhoit.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Wilhoit and wife Cindy of Albemarle; one daughter, Cindy Smith and husband Reggie of Albemarle; two sisters, Margie Doby and Barbara Poplin, both of Albemarle; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
