Services for Dunlap Harward, 93, of Norwood, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, will be June 12, 2014

Wednesday, June 11, 2014 — Joshua Dunlap Harward, 93, of Norwood, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 10, 2014, at CMC-Main.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Norwood First Baptist Church in Norwood. The Rev. Todd McSwain, the Rev. Otis Goins, the Rev. Mike Lisk and the Rev. Harry Harward will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens, Norwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  

Mr. Harward was born June 22, 1920, in Anson County, to the late Luke Joshua Harwood and Henrietta Rummage Harward.  

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Norwood First Baptist Church and was a dairy farmer.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elijah Harward and J.C. Harward; sisters, Lydia Frazier, Vetress Holmes, Ruth Mills, Donna Barbee, Doskie Chappell and Beulah Lee Harward.

Hi is survived by his wife, Louise Faulkner Harward of the home; sons, Harold Harward of Peachland and Jerry Harward and Anthony Harward, both of Norwood; daughters, Linda H. Springer and Valeria H. Thompson, both of Norwood and Sylvia H. Blake of Mount Gilead; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
