With the North Carolina Board of Elections decision to call for a statewide second primary on June 24, District 67 Republicans will decide between Justin Burr, who received 37.5 percent of the vote on May 6, and Ken Furr, who received 32.9.
Furr advised the SNAP on Wednesday that he was asking for the runoff after the tightness of the vote for commissioner of labor created the need for the statewide primary.
With Dr. Nalin Mehta receiving 29.6 percent of the vote on May 6 to finish third, it would appear that the candidate that can sway Mehta’s supporters will win on June 24.
That and getting out their voter base for the second time.
Registered Republicans and unaffiliated voters who voted May 6 may vote in this second primary while Democrats will vote for the commissioner of labor.
With the dramatically changing mosaic of Stanly County, this is a vitally important second primary. Get out and vote and make your voice be heard.
