This past weekend, the Fork Farm was the venue for 10 of the 15 finalists in the running to make the US Olympic Equestrian team as horse and rider performed before a selection committee.
The other five finalists were in England competing before a selection committee there.
Today, the team will be announced. The horses will fly to England on Thursday to be quarantined until they leave for Beijing.
But regardless of the riders and horses that are named today, there is already one winner: Stanly County.
The mere fact that the Fork Farm is in a league to hold Olympic Trials is a definite win for all of Stanly County.
