90th birthday

Congratulations to Thelma Hyatt Craig on her 90th birthday. Her children honored her by giving a birthday party at the E.E. Waddell Center in Albemarle. She was escorted by sons, Garfield and U-Shaka. Daughter Marian was mistress of ceremonies. Welcome was by Avis Craig, scripture by Elder Randy Simons, prayer by Bishop James Richardson and there was recognition of her 10 children. Granddaughter Candice performed a praise dance. Oldest daughter Barbara gave a tribute and reflections were by son U-Shaka Craig. He also showed a brief movie of the family. A blessing of grace was by Minister Kim Scott. The honoree made remarks.

The menu included baked and fried chicken, ham, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, green beans, corn, salad, rolls, dessert and ice tea and lemonade. Everything was gorgeous.
