Farmers are huge part of our lives

CNHI

Thursday, July 25, 2013 — Farmers are important to our society. They work to provide food for people in our country, state and country. Much expense goes into raising crops today. There are fertilizers, seeds, sprays and equipment to purchase.

Farmers are up and working from early morning until late evenings. They spend 12 to 14 hours per day on their job. It takes lots of hard work to plant, spray and harvest their crops. When they are not working in their fields, they are often repairing equipment. It is sad that some people do not understand the importance of our farmers.

Last week some people made the choice to make a beautiful cornfield on Tyson Road their playground. They drove their vehicles into the cornfield and caused several thousand dollars damage to a farmer’s crop.

There are places you can go and drive your vehicle into the mud and play around. I hope people involved will find a mud pit instead of a farmer’s grain field when they decide to play next time. It is not right to destroy farm crops and ruin a farmer’s income. They are people who trespassed and destroyed personal property.

What you put on your plate in life, you will always eat. If you want your meals of life to taste good, you have to treat your fellowman with respect and kindness. These qualities should be shown to our farmers, neighbors and fellowman wherever we are.

We the people on Tyson Road do not like what has happened. We will be on the watch for the  wrong doing in our neighborhood and will report it to law enforcement. We want peace and respect in our community.
