Wingate University Friends of the Library host bestselling author Amy Clipston

Wednesday, October 16, 2013 —             Wingate, N.C. – Wingate University Friends of the Library will host Christian fiction bestselling author Amy Clipston on Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The reading begins with a Fall Tea in the Ethel K. Smith Library.

Clipston, who lives in Union County, is the bestselling author of the Kauffman Amish Bakery Series. Additionally, she has written two young adult books Roadside Assistance and Reckless Heart. Her newest novel and the first in a new series, A Hopeful Heart, was released in June. Her books have been featured on the Christian Book Association bestseller list and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association.

During the reading, Clipston will share her journey to becoming a kidney donor in the paired donor program through Johns Hopkins Hospital. The gift of life she was able to give to a woman suffering from kidney disease provided a kidney for Amy’s husband Joe, in return.

"The Friends of the Library act as a champion of the Ethel K. Smith Library by providing promotional, community and financial support," said Christy Inge, access services manager for the Ethel K. Smith Library.

"They've scheduled many notable authors, like Clipston."

Reservations are required. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by contacting Christy Inge at 704-233-8091 or c.inge@wingate.edu.
