Monday, April 1, 2013 — CHARLOTTE – The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) will host the first annual Tuck Fest, a three-day festival that celebrates the outdoor lifestyle through competitions, exhibitions, demos and live music from April 19-21, 2013. With more than 20 competitions in and around the river as well as seven live bands, the festival invites adventure enthusiasts, spectators and musicians to celebrate the active lifestyle. The festival will feature a variety of outdoor competitions and races that include trail running, kayaking, biking, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding and adventure racing. Winners of each event will be given a free entry into any one race from our Whitewater Race Series. Registration for Tuck Fest competitions is $35, a one-time flat fee that allows for participation in one or all races.

In addition to the competitions and races, Tuck Fest will also feature live music from seven bands throughout the weekend. The bands are all the bluegrass and folk genre and, in order of appearance, include Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, the SteelDrivers, Fruition, Humming House, David Wax Museum, the Carolina Chocolate Drops and the Infamous Stringdusters.

Entry into the event is free and open to the public. For more information about Tuck Fest, please visit the event page.
