Monday, July 7, 2014 — CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation has scheduled a citizen workshop Thursday, July 24, to discuss widening I-85 from two to four lanes in each direction from north of N.C. 73 to north of Lane Street in Cabarrus County and improve interchanges at U.S. 29/601, Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and Lane Street.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the final design of the project. NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Citizens will also have the opportunity to submit comments and questions in writing. There will not be a formal presentation.
NCDOT will hold the workshop from 4 to 7 p.m.at Kannapolis Middle School located at 1445 Oakwood Avenue. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the meeting hours. Written comments or questions can be submitted through August 7.
