World Victory International Christian Center in Greensboro, NC will host “Wellsprings in the Word” conference

Highlighting the program is internationally known Bishop Tudor Bismark of Harare, Zimbabwe

Thursday, May 2, 2012 — Greensboro, NC - World Victory International Christian Center, 1414 Cliffwood Dr., Greensboro, NC, and Pastors Adrian and Shandi Starks invite the public to attend “Wellsprings in the WORD”, June 18 – 21, 2013. The theme for the conference is Discovering the Hidden Treasure (Isaiah 45:3). The schedule includes daily Seminars, Midday Power Series Speakers, Youth Sessions and evening sessions titled Wellsprings in the Word 2013 Evening Splendor.

Midday Power Series Speakers are at noon each day and include: Bishop Tudor Bismark, Co-founder of Jabula New Life Ministries & New Life Covenant Church (Harare, Zimbabwe); Bishop George W. Brooks, Pastor Emeritus of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc. (Greensboro, NC); Pastor David Longobardo, Pastor Emertius of World Victory International Christian Center (Greensboro, NC) and Pastor Reginald Holiday, Pastor of Bethany Fellowship Church (Greensboro, NC). The guest psalmist for the conference is Stacey Joseph.

Seminar workshops will be held each day from 10:00am – 11:30am. Some of the many addressed are: “Discovering the Treasure of Self-worth” - What Makes You Valuable - explore who you are and what God says makes you valuable unique; “Discovering Your Hidden Gifts” – Uncovering Your Spiritual Gems - tools and practical application to identify what gifting you possess; “Discovering How to Patent Your Unique Product” - Protecting Your Intellectual Property - guidance on how to navigate the legal pathways of patenting your intellectual capital; “Discovering Your Brand & Image” – Presenting Your Unique-self Well - how to package & present yourself for unforgettable brand & identity; “Discovering Your Artistic Voice” – Psalmists, Musicians, & Writers That Want to Perfect Their Gift - discover how to be more than an artist; “Discovering the Power to Plow in Prayer” – Timeless Keys to Intercession - offer revelation of the life of Elisha the plowman and the prophet.

Organizers want to empower the youth attending the Wellsprings in the Word “ conference by offering youth sessions available for ages 5-18. A few topics include: “Discovering How Not to Despise Your Youth” - empower the young person with insights on protecting their anointing and purpose and “Discovering the Power and the Pain of Social Media” - uncover the pros and cons not commonly considered about this social media for youth.

  • DOT closes roads in Cabarrus due to flooding

    Charlotte - Heavy rains over the last several hours have prompted the N.C. Department of Transportation to temporarily close several roads in Cabarrus County flooded by rising waters. Sections of Rocky River may reach 17 feet and spill over its banks today, while localized flooding is still possible across parts of the Charlotte region through this afternoon.

    Mount Gilead – Town Creek Indian Mound will host Town Creek Under Stars on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.  Participants will view the nearly full Moon and learn fun moon facts.  The March full moon, called many different things by various American Indian tribes, was an important one in that it marked the end of cold weather and the beginning of spring

  • NCDOT Will Close A Section Of Wilshire Avenue In Cabarrus County For Bridge Replacement

    The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Wilshire Avenue in Concord at 8 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting. Crews will replace the bridge over Irish Buffalo Creek, requiring the road to remain closed through November 1.

    Wingate, N.C. – GRITS: The Musical (Girls Raised In The South) returns to The Batte Center at Wingate University this weekend. Based on southern stories in the book by Deborah Ford, Erica McGee, president of McGee Productions, wrote the script and songs for the musical. The musical premiered at Wingate University in 2008.

  • DENR staff working with utility at site of Dan River spill in Rockingham County

    RALEIGH – Staff with the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources have been alerted to a spill of coal ash from a stormwater pipe into the Dan River in Eden and are on-site working with Duke Energy officials to control the spill to protect public health and the environment.

     Wingate, N.C. – The Wingate University Singers and Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Kenney Potter, will be performing concerts around the state. They will perform sacred works from the 18th century as well as the 21st century. Additionally, they will be performing African-American spirituals and South African folk songs.
