Organizations receive recognition

Thursday, January 12, 2012 — The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Junior members Unit 12 of Albemarle, along with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 2908, Richfield Baptist Church and Sew Kool 4-H Club, were presented on Dec. 2 a Certificate of Appreciation for their ongoing support provided to veterans by participating in the homeless program.

This award was given by Hattie Johnson, LMSW, CMSW, healthcare coordinator for the Homeless Veterans Program.

The W.G. “Bill” Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury was the site for the presentation.

Dianne and Norman Morgan were recognized and given a Certificate of Appreciation for their years of service.

The groups provided 250 goodie bags which were given as the guests registered for their lunch, and door prizes were also given by these organizations.
