The Mental Health Association of Stanly County and Homes of Hope, Inc. are teaming to bring their annual golf tournament to Badin Golf Resort and Club on Sept. 13.
The event starts with a noon luncheon with shot gun start following at 1 p.m.
The tournament will be a Captain’s Choice with an entry fee of $55 per player, which includes the luncheon.
Teams will be handicapped to make everyone a contender and the first place team will receive a $200 pro shop gift certificate. The second place team will receive a free round of golf at Badin while the third place team will receive a round of walk-around.
Prizes for closest to the hole will be awarded on holes No. 9 and 14; longest drive on holes No. 4 and 16; and longest putt on hole No. 18.
The three-putt combo gives everyone a shot a $5,000. Make a 10-footer and a 30-footer, then a 50-footer in succession and take home $5,000.
Each player may buy two mulligans at $5 each.
All entries are due Sept 5 by check to: M.H.A. of Stanly County, P.O. Box 237, Albemarle, N.C. 28002.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to these two United Way agencies.
Through its emergency financial assistance program, the Mental Health Association of Stanly County provides financial assistance to mentally ill individuals for the purchase of medications, healthcare, utilities, shelter and food.
Homes of Hope. Inc. is a partnership of Stanly County churches, social service agencies and health and human service agencies that provides short-term transitional housing and services to temporarily homeless individuals and families.
