Stanly County Baseball / Softball Update

South Stanly loses at Hendersonville; West Stanly tops Pisgah

Friday, May 24, 2013 — In playoff games on Thursday evening, West Stanly softball hosted Pisgah in the opening game of the 2A Western Regional Series, while South Stanly baseball traveled to Hendersonville for the opening game of the 1A Western Regional Series.

The Colts got timely hits and solid defense in a 3-2 win over the Sugar Bears. Game Two of the series will be at 2 p.m Saturday at Pisgah, with a third and final game if necessary to be played immediately after.

South Stanly suffered just their fifth loss of the season on Thursday night in a 6-1 loss to the Bearcats. The Rebel Bulls host Hendersonville tonight at 6 in the second game of the series. Game Three, if necessary, would be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hendersonville.
