North Stanly 1

In non-conference soccer action last Tuesday, the Colts earned their third win of the season with a 4-1 decision over North Stanly.

Senior midfielder Jordan Christy played a ball to sophomore Brady Ennis for the first goal of the night in the 14th minute.

Two minutes later senior Chandler Barbee assisted on another Brady Ennis goal, which completed the scoring for the half.

Five minutes into the second half, freshman Kalem Yang put a ball across the box from the right side and  Christy finished it for his first goal of the season and a 3-0 lead.

North answered instantly a minute and a half later with a goal to make it 3-1. The score remained that way until seven minutes left, when Chandler Barbee delivered his fifth assist on the year to Ennis, who put in his seventh goal on the season.

“We managed to put two decent halves together although we started slower than we should have. I really liked the sequences that took place in the second half, especially the ones that lead up to the two goals. Our defense had a strong night and Logan Greene’s aggressive play continues to be a positive for us in the goal,” West head coach Lee Ennis said
