West Stanly downs Cuthbertson 10-7, earns RRC tournament championship

Sunday, May 5, 2013 — The traditional postgame awards presentation that comes after every Rocky River Conference softball tournament normally includes the presentation of the regular-season and tournament championship plaques, as well as the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards.

All of those awards Thursday night went to representatives of either Cuthbertson, the home team on the scoreboard in the RRC tourney finals game, or to West Stanly, the No. 3 seed playing as the guest on their own home field.

Thursday’s dramatic finals saw the scored tied or the lead change five times as the Colts earned their second RRC tourney title in  three years with a dramatic 10-7 win over the Cavaliers.
