For 12 baseball seasons at West Stanly, the driving force behind the success of the Colts’ program was a head coach that preached a brand of baseball that harkened back to the days of the dead ball era, when the bunt, the hit-and-run and steals were how the game was played.
This week, West head baseball coach David Lee announced that he will not be the Colts’ head coach next season after accepting a position at Richmond Senior High School.
Lee will be an assistant football coach for the Raiders in 2013, working with the wide receiving corps.
