Host King College rallied back late in set one before cruising to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-11, 25-22) sweep of Pfeiffer in Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball on Friday.
Pfeiffer (2-9, 1-3) had a 23-20 and 24-22 lead in set one after kills from Kelly Lancellot and Amber Wooten before King used an attack error, two-straight aces and kill from Mariah Herington to win the sets final four points.
A combination of Pfeiffer errors and 16 Tornado (8-5, 3-0 CC) kills hitting .542 led to a quick 25-11 victory for the hosts. Pfeiffer came back into set three tied 18-18 before errors after gave King just enough of an advantage to finish off the sweep.
For Pfeiffer, Lancellot had a team-high eight kills while Wooten followed closely with seven. Emily Wall posted a team-best 14 assists while Cate Glendenning popped up 13 digs.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Saturday's originally scheduled contest with North Greenville has been postponed to Oct. 10.
Next up for the Falcons will be a non-conference tilt at Catawba at 6:30 tonight.
