Stanfield announces environmental pick up days

Thursday, October 4, 2012 — With Mayor Kevin Barbee and Commissioner Larry Sides both absent, the remaining commissioners and administration of Stanfield met Thursday evening, voting on a number of items, while announcing key dates for the town's citizens.

As all municipalities within the county work to maintain a visibly appealing environment, trash and debris can seem to overwhelm their efforts. To help alleviate that struggle, while urging citizens to refrain from littering and dumping on the town's property, Stanfield announced their public pick up days.

The first leaf pick up was announced for Nov. 6, with the others following on Dec. 4 and Jan. 8, 2013.

White goods, such as appliances and scrap metal, should be placed out for pick up on March 12, 2013.

Brown and bulky goods such as furniture and television sets are slated to be picked up on April 9.

The final pick up days are set for each Tuesday in April, as the town will be collecting loose limbs.
