Man faces multiple rape, sex offense charges

Thursday, January 19, 2012 — An Albemarle man, who was arrested recently, is facing nearly 40 counts of sex offense charges.

According to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, James (Jamie) Terry Patterson, 23, of 749 Efird Street, Albemarle, was arrested Dec. 2 and is facing 20 counts of statutory rape of a person who is 13, 14 or 15, as well as 19 counts of indecent liberties with a child.

He was placed in the Stanly County Jail under a $1.25 million secured bond and is awaiting a Feb. 6 District Court appearance.
