Gunman robs Olympia store

Saturday, February 1, 2014 — An armed man robbed the Olympia Quik Shop Monday night, according to Monroe police.

At 9:55 p.m. a lone white male wearing a hoodie entered the Olympia, located at 720 S. Second St, and demanded money from a female clerk, Capt. Dave Dulin said.

“He entered the store and proceeded to get a drink from the drink box,” Dulin said. “He approached the clerk and pulled a handgun from beneath his hoodie.”

The suspect then reached around the counter a grabbed the cash before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, Dulin said.

He is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, Dulin said.

Police are sorting through video footage of the crime obtained by a security camera at the store, Dulin said.
