Stanly County Schools pass continuing resolution for budget

Friday, June 28, 2013 — The Stanly County school system will continue to operate under its current budget after the school board voted to pass a continuing resolution Thursday.

The resolution will allow the school system to pay salaries and usual expenses according to allotments based on the 2012-2013 budget. It will extend operations under the previous budget until Sept. 15.

Also during Thursday’s special meeting, the board voted to approve a nearly $1.7 million capital budget for improvements throughout the school system.

Approximately $100,600 remains to be allocated from the capital budget.
