Albemarle Police await extradition of Combs on multiple child sex crime charges

Tuesday, December 31, 2013 — The Albemarle Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating a case of sex crimes involving several juveniles. Warrants have been obtained on a James Lonnie Combs, 53, who is currently waiting extradition in Mississippi after being arrested by Mississippi authorities on warrants that were issued in Albemarle. Combs has been charged with 22 counts of First Degree Sex Offense with a Child, two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child, Two counts of Communicating Threats, one count of Maiming without Malice and one count of Crime Against Nature.

Law enforcement is concerned that there may be more victims that has not come forward yet. Albemarle Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation is asking for anyone who knows of any information to contact  Albemarle Police Department at (704) 984-9500 and speak with Detective Springer.
