Pedestrian Dies on 24-27

Tuesday, April 30, 2013 — A 61-year-old Albemarle resident was killed while attempting to cross N.C. 24-27 on Sunday.

Blondie E. Lynch, was crossing the road at Hardee’s in Albemarle at 8:10 p.m. April 28 when she was struck by a car. She was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Robert Everett, 27, was operating the 1997 Toyota Avalon in the outside lane driving westbound on N.C. 24-27 that struck Lynch.

Albemarle Fire Department, Stanly County EMS and Albemarle Police responded to the incident. No charges have been filed against Everett, but the investigation is still ongoing.
