The Village of Misenheimer’s council met Monday evening for their regular meeting for the month. The 2013/2014 budget preparation was the most important item listed on the agenda for the meeting.
According to a proposed budget for the 2013/2014 fiscal year, Misenheimer expects to spend around $373,950. Again, the village council is still working on the proposed budget, thus nothing is set in stone as of yet.
Of note for this proposed budget, Police Chief Erik McGinnis brought up at the last meeting that officers for Misenheimer ere using their holiday time instead of vacation time. On the new budget, officers will receive an eight hour credit for each holiday. The idea behind this is that officers will be encouraged to use their vacation days for time off instead of accrued holiday time.
Another item of import Monday night was a discussion for the 10-year anniversary of the village.
