With a full agenda for Monday night’s meeting, the Norwood Town Council wasted no time getting into the matters at hand.
After consenting to the agenda and accepting minutes from meetings past, the town council got to the first item on the agenda: Solid waste contracts.
“I hate to say this, but Waste Management has done a good job,” said Town Administrator Dwight Smith, his voice laden with amusement.
Three years ago the town of Norwood signed a contract with Waste Management. At the time, Waste Management was seeking a five-year contract. Instead the town signed a three-year contract with a possibility for a two-year extension. The time for the two-year extension has come and the town had a variety of contracts to choose from for solid waste disposal.
