Albemarle Police discover truck of coin dealer

Monday, November 4, 2013 — Albemarle Police Department have discovered the truck of the coin dealer killed Thursday afternoon.

Albemarle Police Chief Bill Halliburton said Monday morning that the 2010 Ford F-150 truck of B & G Coins owner Roger Gibson was found inside City Lake Park in Albemarle Saturday.

The truck has been obtained by the SBI for examination. The suspect, a male believed to be between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and around 150 pounds, remains at large.

“Someone entered the business, committed an armed robbery and somewhere in the process shot our victim, who later died at the hospital,” Capt. David Dulin said last week, of the incident that left Gibson, 81, dead.

The incident is believed to have happened around 4:30 to 5 p.m., Dulin said. with the suspect entering the business from the back.

“We’re actively seeking leads right now, so any additional information anyone has would be great,” Dulin said.
