Jimmy Cusano will keynote Stanly County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting

Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Ambassador to be chosen

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 —

The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce will hold the 78th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Stanly Regional Medical Family and Education Center. Keynote speaker will be Motivational Speaker and Humorist, Jimmy Cusano with “Your Chamber Connection.”

Cusano began his career 20 years ago in fundraising and motivational speaking for nonprofit organizations. Since joining “Your Chamber Connection” in 1991, Jimmy has led over 650 chambers of commerce, 60,000 volunteers and brought in many new chamber memberships all over the United States. Jimmy helped the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce in May 2012; bring in 221 new members during its membership drive.

The meeting will also include the “changing of the guard” from 2012 Board Chair, Matt Smith owner of Stanly Communications WSPC / WZKY Radio, to 2013 Board Chair Bill Lawhon, President of Bank of Stanly. A post-meeting reception will include heavy hors d’oeuvres in the Magnolia Ballroom. Cost of the meeting is $35 per person. The Economist famously created the Big Mac index in 1986 to see which currencies were overvalued. It started as a joke. Now, as the magazine proudly notes, it's a subject of academic study.
