WSHS student faces charges

Agency arrests 18-year-old on campus for selling drugs

Friday, March 1, 2013 — An 18-year-old West Stanly High School student was arrested Wednesday on campus and charged with selling drugs.

According to Stanly County Sheriff Rick Burris, David Scott Walters, 18, of 306  E. Red Cross Road, Oakboro, was arrested at the school.

He was charged wtih possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance which was identified as adderall, a medication used to control Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).

Walters was also charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a counterfeit substance.

According to the sheriff’s office, Walters was attempting to sell ibuprofen as hydrocodone.

A bond was set in the amount of $1,500.
