Police arrest man after finding cocaine, handgun

Tuesday, March 6, 2012 — An Albemarle man was recently arrested after a search of a local business revealed a stolen handgun and cocaine.

According to Albemarle Police Chief William Halliburton, Albemarle Police Department narcotics unit executed a search warrant at 1128 Gibson St., Albemarle, known as Woodside Convenience Store, after receiving reports that the store was being used to traffic narcotics.

“The search revealed a loaded .32 caliber handgun, which returned as stolen when ran through NCIC (National Crime Information Center),” Halliburton said.

Also found during the search was an undisclosed amount of cocaine and a set of digital scales, Halliburton added.

Albemarle Police then arrested Lance Larri Paulley, 39, of Albemarle. He was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Paulley was placed in the Stanly County Jail under a $60,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 5.
