Police arrest man on rape, crimes against nature charges

Monday, March 5, 2012 — An Albemarle man is facing charges of rape after his recent arrest, according to the Albemarle Police.

Duron Lamar Hampton, 23, of Albemarle was arrested March 1, after an investigation into the report of a rape determined him to be a suspect.

Information regarding the incident was not released.

Hampton was charged with eight counts of felony second degree rape and one count of felony crimes against nature.

He was placed in the Stanly County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on March 12.
