School Board Meeting, March

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 — The Stanly County Board of Education was entertained by the Richfield Elementary School chorus at Tuesday evening’s meeting, in addition to numerous other items on the agenda.

Daniel Dickens led the chorus of students through an acoustic medley of songs. The first song was “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, the second was “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay and the last was “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus.

A number of the students played musical instruments during the miniature concert: Josie Luther on guitar, Mattie and Marcie Harwood on the piano, and Lauren Allsbrook and Marylee Haywood sang solos during the performance.

The board members were thrilled with the performance and many expressed their thanks for the opportunity to hear the Richfield students perform.

For more on the board’s meeting, keep an eye out for a future edition of the SNAP.
