The Stanly County Commission met Monday evening to work through a full agenda, not to mention at last agreeing to a settlement with ALCOA and APGI.
Commissioners held a vote Monday night and an agreement was passed with a vote of three to two, with Commissioners Lindsey Dunevant and Tony Dennis voting against the settlement.
“This agreement provides significate investment in economic development and ensures that Stanly County will have long-term access to clean and affordable water, which is essential to our future growth. We are ready to move forward in a positive direction with ALCOA that will benefit Stanly County residents for years to come,” said Chairman Gene McIntyre.
