Locust City Council met Thursday night with a full agenda, including a presentation on a comprehensive transportation plan for Locust, but the true excitement didn’t start until the end of the meeting.
During the period for public comments, four individuals stood up to speak about the closing of the Locust Community Building.
At the April regular meeting Locust’s council voted to close down the structure, due to its age and unsafe nature.
“We didn’t just say the building is shut down. We were told it’s not safe. We had to shut it down,” said Council Member Harry Fletcher.
