Norwood Police seek suspect in stabbing incident

Wednesday, September 4, 2013 — On Sept. 2, Norwood Police and Stanly County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing at 298 Carlie Street.  

There were two victims. One with serious injuries was flown out by helicopter and is expected to be released from Carolinas Medical Center within the next few days, according to Police Chief Randy Smith. The second victim was transported to Stanly Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The suspect fled from the scene before the officers arrived. The officers from both departments conducted a search for the suspect but were unable to locate him, Smith said.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Dwayne Lee Sasser (aka Pee Dab) of Norwood.
